(Pre-conference rehearsals for the Festival Choir will begin Sunday evening, July 28.)
With over 1000 attendees, this worship conference held every three years since 1996 is the largest worship conference among North American Lutheran church bodies. A 2020 conference was moved to 2021 to better take advantage of new hymnal resources and to link the summer conference with the fall release of the new hymnal. But we all know what happened in 2020 and into 2021. After the pandemic we planned for 2024 to avoid scheduling in the same year as the WELS National Conference on Lutheran Leadership (2023).
Who is this conference for? Not just pastors and musicians! It truly offers worship enrichment for everyone: laypeople, musicians, pastors, teachers, and youth. There will be a high school Honor Choir of 90 voices or more and a children’s choir of up to 60 voices. Breakout topics are selected so that every session includes topics of general interest to laypeople who aren’t musicians but who care about Lutheran vitality in their congregations.
