At Messiah Preschool Academy, we believe introducing children to the Bible at an early age is essential for nurturing their spiritual growth and development. Our program includes a dedicated Bible story time, designed to gently introduce young children to biblical truths. Through engaging stories and hands-on activities, we help children cultivate a love for God and build a strong, faith-centered foundation that will grow with them throughout their lives.
Our weekly activity schedule is thoughtfully curated to provide a balanced and engaging learning experience. Each activity is designed to foster essential skills: Bible stories nurture spiritual growth, Zoo Phonics builds foundational literacy, Handwriting Without Tears supports fine motor and pre-writing skills, and STEM encourages curiosity and problem-solving. Music and Movement promote physical coordination, Story Time enhances language and listening skills, and dedicated free play fosters creativity, social-emotional development, and relationship-building among peers. This approach ensures a holistic, enriching environment for early childhood development.

Our director Kara Schroeder graduated from Martin Luther College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught 3rd-5th grade in Milwaukee, WI until moving to California in 2001 with her family. Kara discovered her love for little learners while helping out at her own children’s preschool and went back to school for early childhood education. In 2009, She started The Big Backyard Preschool in Santa Ana, CA. She was the director and morning teacher there for 12 years. In 2021 her family moved to Carlsbad CA where Kara was the lead teacher of the four year old program at Carlsbad Christian Academy. In March of 2024 she accepted the call to be our Director. She is passionate about early childhood education and is busy getting Messiah Preschool Academy ready to open in August 2025.
